Diesel $1.99 gallon

Reable diesel prices are making it pleasant as we travel across the USA. This is in Louisanna around Beaux Bridge, LA

Dean's Seafood Etouffee

Dean opted for the Seafood Etouffee. What a wonderful place to eat!

CRAWFISH TIME!

Crawfish Town USA

What a feast! 4 lbs of Crawfish -- YUM YUM!

Crawfish Town USA

We decided to stop in Beaux Bridge, LA for some cajan cooking. This place is the best in town and even allowed us to spend the night in the their parking lot, boondocking. So we saved our money we would have spent on a campground and went out to dinner.

Dean & Kallie relaxing

After Dean did the repairs, we headed down the road again. Kallie decided to ride on Dean's lap.

MH mishap

We had a little bit of a mishap. The coach started vibrating so we pulled over so Dean could take a better look. It was something to do with the airbags and something else -- who knows! But Dean did a temporary fix using duct tape! (That's a blue job) We will get it permanently fixed in Nashville.

BLESS THE PERSON WHO DEVELOPED DUCT TAPE!

Boondocking in Junction, TX

Dean and I enjoy stopping for the night in Junction, TX at their small city park for the night. Many locals swim in the river just above the dam and the sound of the water running is very soothing and relaxing. They allow campers to boondock and everytime we have spent the night there has always been 7-10 campers who have also found the spot!

Friends from AVC

What a surprise we had the other day when Ken & Sherry Krause knocked on our door! Ken & Sherry have done 6 or 7 tours with Adventure Caravans and have been to the last three AVC reunions: New Orleans, Branson, and Colorado Springs. They are from Colorado Springs, CO. It was great to see them again. We will see them in Branson this fall 2009.

Gayle & Charlie Parker

Wonderful friends, Charlie & Gayle Parker. We first met in San Felipe in 2003; then Livingston, TX; then Florida; then they signed up for a tour with us going into Mexico and now Tucson. It is wonderful to bump into them around the USA. They came over to our rig for dinner tonight. I fixed Enchiladas. I used Jane DeMayo's recipe, but I think Jane's was much better.

A day at the International Wildlife Museum

We spend 1/2 day browsing around the museum. Had fun.

IWM Grizzley Diorama

This museum had many wonderful dioramas dipicting more than 400 species of animals.

Lunch with Jane & Cliff

Our friends from New York, Jane & Cliff at Tiny's Saloon

A great place for a burger!

We had lunch with Jane and Cliff at Tiny's Saloon. It is where all the locals hang out for terrific burgers.

Desert Museum

Here we are enjoying the Museum

Desert Museum in Tucson

What a wonderful day we had with our friends from New York. We visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. It exhibits more than 300 live animal species, including mountain lions, prairie dogs, Gila monsters, big horn sheep, hawks and hummingbirds in natual habitats. They also have trails going through landscapes containing over 1300 species of plants indigenous to the Sonoran Desert.

New York Friends

We spent a day with friends from New York. Jane & Cliff DeMayo also own a home in Tucson and Bob & Shirley Simpson, originally from NY, but bought a home in Colorado.

Road to Petroglyphs

This is the road we needed to travel on for 6 miles back to the petroglyphs. We had to go through 4 gates each leading into a different pasture for cattle. We seen some cattle, but not too many.

Dean on trail to petroglyphs

We had a wonderful day for hiking to the petroglyphs. This is also a pasture for cows.

Trail to Petroglyphs

We had to walk this trail for 1/2 mile to see the petroglyphs. The sand was very loose and difficult to walk in. The trail is a wash, when it rains the water flows off the mountains via this trail.

Looks Like a Pile of Rocks

We are almost there. This will be where the petroglyphs are. It looks like someone dumped a huge pile of rocks, but it is just erosion breaking down a mountain.

Petroglyphs in Ironwood National Monument

This is what we drove 6 miles to on a dusty, dirt road and walked 1/2 mile in sand to see!

In the Spring the Brittlebush turns mountains yellow!

Lamoreaux Travels

Hello to all who venture our way to see what we are doing and where we are going. This is the first time doing this, and may make a few mistakes along the way, so bear with us as we go over the learning curve and into knowledge.

Dean & Cheryl sold their home in New York in 1998 to travel full time in a motor home. We are now on our second motor home and it has been 11 years. We are still having fun!
